For the Unscripted Bride

I didn't choose to become a designer. It chose me.

I was managing a Chanel boutique, surrounded by luxury, understanding what it meant to create garments that made women feel extraordinary. But there was a pull in my heart I couldn't ignore. A calling to create. I didn't know what I was creating or for whom. I just knew I had to answer it.

So I quit my job.

I designed three dresses. Not wedding dresses. Just dresses that represented what mattered to me: artistry, craftsmanship, soul. I put them on Etsy, not knowing who would buy them or what would happen next.

Then brides started buying them.

Not just one or two. Enough that I knew this wasn't random. This was God showing me the path. This was the assignment.

So I went all in.

That's when I saw it firsthand: brides disappearing into dresses. Into expectations. Into someone else's version of what "bride" should look like. I watched women stand in front of mirrors wearing beautiful gowns that had nothing to do with who they were. Performing instead of existing.

In 2012, I officially founded Dreamers & Lovers. The assignment became clear: create dresses that don't ask women to transform, but honor who they already are.

There was a time I almost lost it. I got caught up in what I thought the business should be. Chasing what looked successful instead of what felt true. I lost my passion. I felt disconnected from the work.

Then I came back. Not as the same woman. This time, rooted.

I realized: I'm not here to prove anything. I'm not here to build an empire or chase fame or be the biggest. I'm here to answer the assignment God gave me. To create beauty with soul. To make the woman who's been living in the shadow realize the light was always hers.

When you show up as yourself, you give other women permission to do the same.

That's what happens in our fitting rooms. That's what happens when a bride puts on a dress and thinks: "There I am." Not "I look like a bride." But "There I am."

This isn't about dresses. It's about recognition.

Every gown is handcrafted in our California atelier by seamstresses who understand that what we're making isn't just a beautiful dress. It's the dress a woman wears when she decides to stop performing and start existing. When she stops asking permission and starts taking up space.

We don't chase trends. We create dresses for women who trust their instincts over what's expected. Who value meaning over perfection. Who know that the most beautiful version of themselves isn't the one that fits someone else's script.

This work is sacred to me. When you know it's bigger than you. When you know you're not building it for status or shortcuts, but through integrity, vision, and calling.
