My heart must have skipped a beat when Amalia (the beautiful bride) sent us photos of her seemingly small and intimate wedding, which took place in Colombia. Both her, and groom (Jaime) and the entire wedding attendants were bursting with joy. The photos are incredible, and shot by the very talented international wedding photographer Juan Tamayo. More details of his work can be found below. I personally loved how brilliantly Juan captured the candid moments, all the joy, and the laughter.
We are always in love with small and intimate weddings, and when infused with bohemian rustic touches, it really just takes our breath away. Amalia chose the Isis crochet wedding dress in the made-to-measure option. The isis boho wedding dress is available here.

This wedding took place in London this past summer, and the lovely bride Laura wore the very bohemian dream-ers maxi lace dress with bell sleeves in white. Laura is a sweetheart and gave me access to the entire collection of the wedding photos. I chose to feature the ones showing the gorgeous couple. Although I did not include photos of the wedding guests and all the dancing and fun that were so tangible in the photos, it all came across very sweet, personal, fun and an overall relaxed vibe.
I was very intrigued by Laura’s description of her wedding:
“I started the process as reluctant bride, having not decided which category I wanted to fall in; Barbie bride, medieval bride or even American sweetheart bride! Once the date drew nearer I decided upon the 1970s hippy bride look, having fallen in love with Jenny’s dress when she married Forrest Gump many years ago!”
Forrest Gump for me was also a memorable movie, because in addition to crying my heart out, I was also in love with the intimate wedding captured in Forrest’s backyard. This movie did a number on me. I am sure if I watched the movie again, it would still pull at my heartstrings. Jenny, the bride in the movie, was a hippie at heart, and the dress she wore for her wedding was versatile, and one that could be translated today as a modern day dress for a free spirited bohemian/hippie bride.
Everything about Laura’s wedding is just perfect. It is amazing to me that she created exactly the wedding day she dreamt of. I am in love, and did I already say this?….hello gorgeous couple.
Laura, we are delighted you chose a dream-ers dress to channel your inner hippie. The why of everything she does just makes perfect sense. Case in point, one of the why behind the dress:
“Another pro of the loose fitting 1970s style, was it allowed me to scoff and guzzle wedding treats all day without worrying about an expanding waistline!”

Laura I love everything…. pure perfection, from the flower crown, to your happy bouquet, sandals and of course the dress. You both look so completely in love and I wish you both a happy life together.

I love the breathtaking Colorado scenery and the rustic feeling it gives off. The horse is not only a great prop it adds whimsy, charm, and a fairy-tale type feel to the photos. Don’t you think?

There are few things that gives us as much joy as seeing our dresses in action. Our real bohemian bride featured here is Josefina who got married in Levanzo, Sicily, Italy. The photos are to-die-for gorgeous and my first reaction when I browsed through, was, what a gorgeous couple, hastily followed by “this looks like a Dolce and Gabbana campaign ad”. Right??
We exist for brides like Josefina, who knows what she wants, and though she uses Pinterest for inspiration, at the end of the day she knows what type of wedding she has, and what dress will work for that wedding. Living in Italy also meant she never saw or tried the dress before purchasing it. She read our review online, felt our authentic vibes, and just did it. She sent us her measurements and we made the dress exactly to her body, and when she received it, she was soooooo happy.
Here is a brief part of Josefina’s message to us:
“Everyone loved the dress, I was so comfortable and happy in it, the colour was great for me, and here in Italy, everyone was amazed, they asked me about you, I recomended you very highly, thank you for showing me that I can trust loving and creative creators as you are, that help one’s dreams come true……

We here at Dreamers & Lovers love looooove looooove weddings, especially those unconventional weddings where the couple totally turns their backs on tradition, and somewhere along there our alternative wedding dresses should come in to play. (:-) Just kidding). Well today this beautiful bohemian wedding happened on the beach in San Diego, La Jolla, California to be more precise. This bride is truly special to me, as she is one of the few brides I had the chance to actually fit myself and connected with, in person. She has a larger than life personality, and just loads of fun, and I am sure by now you have zoomed in on that trait.
From the moment I met Nicole, I knew she was exactly the type of girl the Dreamers & Lovers line was designed for. Her engagement ring was unlike anything I had ever seen. Her story was captivating. She lives in a be achy town, in fact, the ocean is her backdrop. She is simply a woman that is laid back, original, and could care less about giving in to the demands of the traditional wedding industry. In retrospect, I could never picture her in a big poufy dress.
She looks gorgeous in our lace bell sleeve gown, the epitome of how you envision a bohemian wedding dress to look like. It has a rustic and free spirited look to it. She had us make the slip shorter, and I love the way it looks. Don’t you agree?
The background of the beach feels calming and harmonious, and the decor and flowers just sets the tone for a bohemian wedding fairytale. It just seems to fit her style and personality perfectly.
The photographer captured the moments so well. It all appears very stress-free, and without the bloated feelings of rituals and materialism. You can totally see the love spilling out of the photos. It is heart stoppingly beautiful.
If you are reading this and is a more traditional bride, it is fine to go that route if that is who you truly are. We here at Dreamers & Lovers live for the unconventional weddings like the one we are oohing and aahing over here. I get weak in the knees for the beach, so when I opened my inbox to these breathtaking photos and a truly gorgeous bride and groom, pure excitement took over me.
We wish them a lifetime of happiness with more great times than they could ever hope for.
