It is no secret that we love industrial spaces here at Dreamers & Lovers, and this newish Orange County, California wedding venue – The Estate on Second- does not disappoint. We are so in love with this inspiration shoot titled “Hues of Blue” coordinated by Just Merried Events. Featured in this shoot are our Bianca 2-piece dress, as well as our Amy top + Fiona skirt.
This shoot was also recently featured on Green Wedding Shoes blog.
From Lilian – Shoot Design & Coordinator:
“It all began with a love affair…with the charming & historic Estate on Second, a brand new venue in Santa Ana that made its debut just over the summer. And with such a lovely venue as the backdrop of our photoshoot, we made some wedding magic happen.”
We are sure you will find loads of design inspiration from this shoot, from the suspended green garland to the floral chandelier. Seriously, how gorgeous does that look against the distressed walls?!?!. On a side note, distressed walls gets us every time. It transforms everything in its path to MAGIC.
Another of our fave detail from this shoot is the table setting. Nothing quite beats a minimal wood table with garland and natural looking florals. It has an organic feel to it, and does not look overdone, and the addition of the copper elements takes it up a notch.
And we couldn’t feature this shoot without mentioning that giant love sign that Lilian had made. If you are on the hunt for a love sign, you;re in luck, as this is now offered for rentals.

Laid-back UK bride-to-be Poppy contacted us from the UK in an almost panic state. Her wedding was 5 weeks away, and she had fallen out of love with the dress she had planned to wear on her big day. She was madly in love with our delicate and bohemian chic Catherine dress. When she contacted us, she was sure her request would be a shot in the dark, and while we too thought it might have been, as fate would have it, it wasn’t. We asked her a couple questions, and in true UK lingo, she responded with WICKED, and she had us from that point on.
Like many of our international brides-to-be, we requested measurements, asked about preferences, etc, and we got her order going using our rush service. We were nervous about the shipping portion, as that part is out of our control, so we sent it even sooner than promised, and she received it in time for her romantic and vintage style West Lexham wedding.
We customized the dress to her measurements, and tweaked the design of the back, which would allow her to feel comfortable wearing her own bra. We were thrilled when Poppy tagged us on Instagram, we were head over heels with everything about her romantic boho style wedding. Poppy and Paul’s wedding is the perfect mix of charm, vintage, and romance all bundled together in to a laid-back bohemian wedding.
When we first look at wedding photos, we are always tempted to choose our favorite aspect of the wedding. That is everything outside of the most important – the tender love the couple shares. Needless to say, the dress is also high on the list, but, gosh, we love so much. The flowers are breathtaking, the flower crown, we love the mismatched bridesmaid dresses, and the dresses are the perfect complementary shade and style to the Catherine dress. Poppy chose the Catherine in the ivory lace and champagne liner. I can’t decide what I like the most, so I will file this wedding as truly incredible, with many aspects to admire.
Oh wait…..there is one more, her boots are amazing with the dress, it adds a laid-back relaxed feel to the entire look.
Poppy did a great job making the mood entirely effortless.
Photos were beautiful captured by wedding photographer Luis Holden.
Poppy thanks for sharing your beautiful photos. Everything is just WICKED!!
As we weren’t at the wedding and their talented photographer was, I am sharing some words taken from Luis himself. (On a side note, West Lesham brides-to-be check out his website – luisholden.com. He does beautiful work)
“A sparkling morning swim with a beer in hand. Girls prepping with champers on the beds. Boys bantering and even a crazy bundle or two. A gentle breeze through the heat of the day. Ze best guests with ze best body-art. A moony! Beautiful details created by an artistic duo. Cool music and lots of it too. Sparklers hissing in the warm night sky. And dancing, non-stop dancing!! When a great bunch of guys and a great bunch of girls (and a super-cool dog named Rufus) get together for a wedding / festival in the mesmerizing setting of West Lexham this is just a taste of what happens;)
Two peoples vision that was realised in the most incredible way. Poppy + Paul, effortlessly cool, him in tweed – her in a vintage-inspired dress and little brown boots, incredibly generous and loved lots by all that know them.”
OMG!!! It is hard to believe that it is almost FOUR MONTHS since we have written a blog post. Where the heck have we been?!! The truth is, it’s been a whirlwind the past few months for us. We’ve been busy with so much, from creating dresses with tight timelines, to hunting for a new showroom/studio, and meeting loads of brides-to-be in our current SMALL showroom, and just life in general. We have tons to update you on in the near future. Last week, we signed a brand spanking new lease on a showroom almost triple the size of our current one. It has that good ole laid-back vibe that we love, in all its rustic industrial natural beauty. The space should be epic when we are finally done….so hang in there…
In the meantime, we have loads of catching up to do with all the photos and behind the scenes happenings that we live for.
This epic editorial is the brainchild of Meghan Elise from MeghanElise photography, and Sharon of Knot Just Flowers. Oh Em Gee..how can we sum up the awesomeness of this editorial? Is there enough words? Well, as this editorial was also featured on Green Wedding Shoes, she (Jen, the fan-damn-tastic editor behind GWS) said it best, “Inspired by strong, beautiful shades of blue…it conceptualizes a setting that walks the line of folksy, bohemian, earthy + eclectic”, and we agree wholeheartedly.
We meet many brides-to-be in the studio, and frequently when we ask the theme or inspiration behind their wedding decor, we hear a lot of COLOR, and this is one of the main reasons we love this shoot so much, (and the fact that the super fab girl, ROCKED our Alexandria dress to perfection). We love the abundance of strong colors, and the natural rustic backdrop of the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. For our California brides, this would be an amazing venue. We envision this being perfect for our laid-back, cool, and creative bohemian brides. Right???
We love the look of the Alexandria paired with bare feet. What do you all think? Either way this dress is a stunner, and we were happy to see it featured on POP SUGAR as one of the top bohemian wedding dresses. (#smallvictories)
We hope you will find loads of inspiration in this fun editorial, and that you will love it as much as we do. I mean, after this shoot, we have a total photographer-crush on Meghan.
This breathtaking wedding currently featured on Green Wedding Shoes is a dream. The California wedding took place in an almond orchard, at springtime when the almond trees were in full bloom. This is a bohemian wedding dream. When we first saw the photos it literally knocked us off of our feet. We love the intimate feel, the bohemian touches, and the all out rustic elegant feel of Whitney and Zak’s wedding.
Whitney is wearing our Arabelle bohemian wedding dress, customized / made-to-measure. It is beyond stunning on her, and she is a seriously sensational bride.
According to the bride, the wedding took 2.5 months to plan, and it was a definite hit, as everyone in the social media world has been set ablaze with all her wedding day details. We personally loved the picnic style seating, and to learn that the bride’s mother personally hand sew each of the 75 tapestry pillows, elevates to an entirely new level. This is a true inspiration wedding for any bohemian bride-to-be, there are too many details to list, but you can find the full Green Wedding Shoes feature, complete with loads of photos and behind-the-scene details at
We wish Whitney and Zak only happiness and lifelong bliss. They are such a beautiful couple!

My heart must have skipped a beat when Amalia (the beautiful bride) sent us photos of her seemingly small and intimate wedding, which took place in Colombia. Both her, and groom (Jaime) and the entire wedding attendants were bursting with joy. The photos are incredible, and shot by the very talented international wedding photographer Juan Tamayo. More details of his work can be found below. I personally loved how brilliantly Juan captured the candid moments, all the joy, and the laughter.
We are always in love with small and intimate weddings, and when infused with bohemian rustic touches, it really just takes our breath away. Amalia chose the Isis crochet wedding dress in the made-to-measure option. The isis boho wedding dress is available here.
Enjoy photos of Amalia and Jaime’s wedding, as well as this heart wrenchingly beautiful poem that would make for a great wedding ceremony reading titled A New Beginning.
On this earth there is a oneness
A rhythmic flow through everything that lives
The things with roots and stems and leaves
The things with shells and fins and furs
The things with wings with which to fly
The things that crwal and those that walk (more…)
A couple of days ago the Dreamers & Lovers line was featured on lovemydress.net, a multi award-winning UK wedding blog. It felt really great being featured, and being the analyzer in chief that we are, we did not waste time taking the temperature of the response to the line.
It is crazy what goes on in our heads, and how passionate, (that should read ‘obsessed’), we can be about our label/brand. The Dreamers & Lovers line is like our third child, and the one that gets all my attention these days. Sorry boys….., well, not entirely true. Naturally, we were checking their Facebook page, to see what comments were posted, etc. We love constructive criticisms, but being that this is our baby, we were not ready for anything too negative…lol
Luckily there were only amazing ‘good’ feedback about the line. There was one however that struck me, a lovely woman who felt disappointed that we did not carry plus-sizes. While this is true, it is not entirely true, because we make all of our pieces to order, this can be arranged, and we have executed this arrangement many times in the past. Just message us if you are interested in this service – [email protected]
There were a few of our styles highlighted in the feature, but on their very interactive Facebook page, the holly dress played the starring role. This is why I am making Holly, the subject of yet another blog post. See her here again. She is one of my fave, but I really cannot choose a favorite. That would be like asking me to choose between my twin boys…no, not gonna happen..
This dress has received rave reviews, and now that so may has shared the photo, and are aware of its existence, it is shaping up to become THE boho wedding dress. So, thank you Annabel and team, for spreading the word about Holly. She gets around…..in a good way.
So, if you are meeting Holly for the first time, she is made here in Los Angeles, by our small team, and is created from vintage-look crochet style embroidered lace. She has an elastic stretch neckline that can sit either on or off your shoulder. As you can see from all the photos, we love her worn off the shoulder. She is elegant yet laid-back, and is the epitome of a boho chic wedding dress. Available in ivory, old-lace, or white. The photos shown here are all of the ivory shade. The fit is slight a-line, but because she comes with a detachable belt, your waist will be cinched.
She has been the confident yet humble star of many bohemian weddings. We have many more boho chic wedding dresses available.
On a side note, if you are finding Holly through this blog post, she is entirely made to measure, and made to order. That means, if you are shorter, taller, skinnier, fatter, than the average, no worries, we have you covered. You would just include your measurements with your order, and we’ll work our magic from that point on.
Trust us, this is what we do, and not only do we do it, we do a damn great job at it, because it is your wedding dress.
Would love to hear what do you think of Holly?
